Ne-festival bo letos potekal
od 6. do 9. julija 2017 v Gornjem Gradu,
kjer se razvajamo v objemu neokrnjene narave, zelenih gozdov, čistih potočkov, zvezdnatega neba brez ulične osvetljave in umirjenega tempa življenja.
—
Ne-festival 2017 v medijih:
Zato zagovarjamo življenje v skladu z naravo.
USEFUL INFO Gornji Grad lies in a valley among mountains, so even in the peak of summer nights can get cold. Be sure to bring enough warm clothes for evenings, as well as sunblock, flip-flops, shorts and sunhats. Just in case it rains also bring some wet weather gear too.

1. Govorimo o seks(izm)u
7. 7. 2017; džokerja: Barbara Polajnar in Tomaž Podbevšek (Sl)
Kaj je seksizem? Kje in kako ga zaznavamo?
2. Gledališče zatiranih pod lupo
8.7. 2017; džokerja Eliana Schüler (DE) in Joschka Köck (AT)
Eliana in Joschka sta nekaj let skupaj delovala v okviru skupine Theater der Unterdrückten Wien.
Kakšne so specifične prednosti in slabosti GZ kot oblike gledališča s stališča udeleženca in zunanjega opazovalca?
3. Je strah naš največji zatiralec?
7. in 8. 7. 2017; džokerja: Hana Milenkovska in Valentino Apostolovski (MK)
4. Moja osebna zgodovina
Delavnico bodo z mentorji Nefestivala sooblikovali uporabniki DEOS Centra starejših Gornji Grad.
Džokerji: Simon Macuh, Andreja Džakušič and Metka Bahlen Okoli
5. Gledališka delavnica za otroke
8. 7. 2017
WORKSHOPS
Let’s talk about sex(ism)
7. 7. 2017; jokers: Barbara Polajnar in Tomaž Podbevšek (Sl)
What is sexism? Where and how do we feel it? Should we avoid it, ignore it, live with it hands to hands or resist it? Do we even recognize it in our everyday life? Is sexism becoming an internalized oppression as part of the neoliberal system? Why should we fight against it every day? These are the questions we’ll explore on the workshop Let’s talk about sex(ism), facing internalized sexism in our society by using Aesthetic of the Oppressed. Aesthetics of the Oppressed is the term that Augusto Boal used to refer to the full spectrum of cultural and artistic activities that a community develops to resist, challenge and transform oppression. Building on the foundations of Theater of the Oppressed (TO) and the Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Aesthetics of the Oppressed recuperates the power of art and theater “to liberate both oppressor and oppressed” and “recover our deepest humanity” through creativity, art, dialogue and education
Barbara Polajnar holds an MA degree in cultural studies in the field of theatre of the oppressed. She is working as organiser of cultural events and trainer and facilitator of workshops and trainings in theatre of the oppressed methods with various groups in Slovenia and abroad. She is the co-founder of the KUD Transformator association and the theatre-activist group ZIZ which uses TO approaches to deal with gender issues.
Tomaž Podbevšek is a member of the theatre-activist group ZIZ and the street-theatre group SepateKapate. He works as a moderator and member of the »Town Assembly Initiative«. He also prepares community radio broadcasts entitled »Uglašene četrti« (Harmonic neighbourhood). He also contributes to the radio show »M’rš Pizda«, dedicated to engaged and activist issues and writes articles for the Pizda! Fanzine dealing with diverse engaged, activist and creative issues.
Theatre of the Oppressed under investigation from the inside out
8. 7. 2017, jokers: Eliana Schüler (DE) in Joschka Köck (AT)
Looking at Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) as a social and political theatre form, Eliana Schüler and Joschka Köck take different perspectives: Eliana is a theatre pedagogue by profession who has started her investigation into theatre with TO, but gained some outside perspectives on TO as political movement and theatre form in the past years. Joschka is a TO practitioner who has questions to his own movement from the inside. Working as dramaturge in another political theatre company and learning more about immersive theatre made him question his own practice. Eliana and Joschka worked together at Theater der Unterdrückten Wien for some years.
The workshop will be about questions like: What is the specific use of forum theatre looking at it from a broader (political) theatre perspective? How can we avoid TO becoming a theatre of slogans with few aesthetic value? Can we reach political change through theatre and if yes how? And is TO/Forum theatre the best way to get there? From an insider’s/outsider’s perspective: What are the specific strengths and weaknesses of TO as a theatre form?
Is fear our biggest oppressor?
7.-8. 7. 2017; jokers: Hana Milenkovska, Valentino Apostolovski (MK)
As artists coming from a challenging context we would like to tackle a theme, still painfully relevant, since the dawn of time, Fear. The fear that prevents us from connecting and empathizing with our fellow humans, therefore prevents us to engage against the injustices of the world.
The goal of the training is to encourage and inspire the participants to engage and use theatre and other performative disciplines as a tool for change in any given context.
The workshop activities have a strong physical aspect (not too demanding and adapted to the needs and abilities of the participants) but it is crucial for us (the workshop leaders) to know beforehand if there is a certain aspect of human contact you find challenging as a participant, and we will try to facilitate the process of helping you work within your frame. The topics we wish to tackle which will be modified by the input we receive from participants.
Hana Milenkovska, a young theatre director from Skopje, Macedonia currently employed in the Children and Youth Theatre in Skopje. She has extensive background in TO, as a participant in trainings and various artistic initiatives. As a drama pedagogue for children and youth she has used and modified the TO methods as a part of the tools used in work with underprivileged youth, bouncing back and forth within the system, and most of her work is in projects with the Roma community in her native country.
Valentino Apostolovski is a freelance contemporary dancer, choreographer and dance teacher from Skopje, Macedonia. His freelance work includes working on different projects, such as dance performances, drama plays, and workshops. His focus is on movement research, learning and developing new movement techniques for different kinds of movement/dance workshops for contemporary dance, social action through performing arts, physical theatre, choreography and stage movement design for theatre, pedagogical work, youth work.
My personal history
6.-9. 7. 2017, DEOS centre for elderly people in Gornji Grad
The workshop functions as an intergenerational dialogue with the elderly who have plenty of stories and experience to share. Through discussion and objects they have kept we will write down their stories and take photographs of these objects. Thus we will create a series of intimate portraits published in a booklet and on a poster that will decorate the place where they live. The stories of the elderly are a hidden treasure which allow them to feel accepted and connected.
In cooperation with the Non-festival facilitators, the workshop will be coordinated by the dwellers of the DEOS centre for elderly people in Gornji Grad. After the workshop we will also make a presentation for the local community and Non-festival participants.

Theatre workshop for children
8. 7. 2017
It is a combination of diverse theatre techniques, from theatre improvisation to theatre of the oppressed. By playing fun warming up games we will prepare an environment in which we will be able to express ourselves freely, not forgetting about musical elements to enrich our work. We will also prepare a short presentation at the end of the workshop.
Teja Bitenc is a theatre and musical pedagogue working in Pionirski dom in Ljubljana. In teaching she implements diverse theatre techniques, from theatre improvisation to theatre of the oppressed. Beside teaching, she also acts in performances for children, from »Pravljičarije« to the productions of Pionirski dom (Show strahov, Žogica Marogica etc.) which are presented all around Slovenia (Festival Nuk, Trnfest, Knjižni sejem, Igraj se z mano itd.) She also dubbs animated films featuring on different Slovene TV channels (Ninja Turtles, Kung Fu Panda, Vilinski starši etc.).

BRUTALCI
In potem so Butalci nenadoma izginili. Kaj se je zgodilo z njimi? Pridružite se nam in morda se nam skupaj posreči odkriti, kako so Butalci postali Brutalci.

BRUTALCI
Who doesn’t know Butalci, the good-natured country folk from Slovenia who really knew how to enjoy life in their outgoing thickheadedness? Many of their stories and adventures can tell us a lot about ourselves, about who we are and what we are like. But then, something strange started to happen. The better they had it, the more Butalci started to get grumpy, unsatisfied and malevolent. They forgot about friendship, they picked on their neighbours and started to erect walls around themselves and in their heads. And then, out of the blue, they disappeared. What happened to them? Come and join us, and together we migh discover how Butalci became Brutalci.

WHO CARES?
Evelyn cares for her father Richard who is a little bit demented and sick. She has almost no free time because her father wants no nursing personnel to care for him, he still has his daughter. Martin, Evelyns brother does seldomly and reluctantly care for his father and he doesn‘t seem to be very talented in it. In the course of „Who cares?“ patriarchal ideal images of the family become visible and it becomes clear very fast that CARE work also misses societal recognition.
The new forum play of „Das ReflActiv“ deals from different perspectives with injustices in CARE work: In nursing old people pr children, household chores, women do the greater part of societally necessary care work that is not acknoledged enough. The piece also works with problems that emerge for men in a constitution of care work as female. The piece „Who cares?“ looks at different phases in the life of people.

CINDERELLA CAN, TOO (performance for children)
What would Cinderella do…
If birds wouldn’t know how to sew?
If the fairy godmother lost her magic wand?
If the handsome prince got diarhea?
Wha, oh what would Cinderella do?
Cinderela can, too… is a performance for children, families and everyone who wish to get to know a different Cinderella. It is based on the well-known fairytale of Cinderella who in the acclaimed version gets help from the fairy godmother, friendly animals and prince charming to overcome her trouble. In the Transformator version however we will use spontaneous dramaturgy, a technique of theatre of the oppressed, in order to involve the spectators and develop the story in a different by exploring other possible twists and turns of Cindetella’s story.

IMPRO FORUM
Impro forum is a speciality of KUD Transformator, a new technique in the theatre of the oppressed developed by the members of our association. It focuses on how theatre of the oppressed can function in the here and now by combining it with other theatre approaches – in this case improvisational theatre which is included into the most popular of the theatre of the oppressed techniques – the forum theare. It is a forum performance based on improvisation. This means that the actors have no pre-prepared script or text. The script is developed ad hoc and in situ, based on suggestions from the audience. This leads the performance into new, uncharted territories in researching and resolving different situations that become transposed from the real life onto the stage and back again.
